I am Maddie Taylor, a ceramic artist creating handcrafted functional and decorative ceramics in northern Germany. Every piece I make is deeply inspired by the natural world, with an illustration style heavily influenced by my background in Botany and Restoration Ecology ~ a blend of scientific observation and a sense of wonder for the small details often overlooked. Using a combination of underglazes and engobes, each piece is carefully hand-painted, hand-carved, and fired to 1220°C. Every ceramic piece is designed, thrown, painted, carved, glazed, finished, and packaged myself in my home studio, with the help of my partner, Elli, in packaging and shipping.

Through my work, I hope to inspire others to slow down, look closely at the natural world around them, and appreciate the quiet beauty and wonder woven throughout nature's design.
